About Us
Acme Building Services was founded in 1949 as the Acme Wall Washing Company. Since then we have grown to be one of the most prominent full-service professional cleaning, custodial and maintenance companies in the greater Boston region.
Our Mission
With a partner-oriented approach to client relations and customer service, a formidable devotion to environmental responsibility and ‘green’ business practices, a 24/7/365 corporate philosophy, and a commitment to providing services that are flexible, timely, and consistently cost-efficient, Acme continues to grow as the professional cleaning, custodial and maintenance provider of choice for Boston’s institutional and commercial community. That has been our mission for more than 75 years.
It is a mission that is vigorously supported by the meticulous supervision we provide to our reliable, well-trained and cross-trained workforce, and the dependable client communication efforts to which we are committed on a daily basis.
As a result of our approach, fortitude and flexibility, we have been fortunate to build on our success year after year. Our reputation is sterling. As a case in point, we began a professional relationship with Harvard University in 1949, the year we began, which continues to this day. Since 1981 we have maintained a professional relationship with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. And our client partnership with Berklee College of Music, for which we provide full-time maintenance, custodial and trade services and personnel, began in 1986. These solid affiliations develop as we partner with our customers over time.
Over the years we have become acutely attuned to the particular cleaning, custodial and maintenance needs of our institutional and commercial clients, and we have also developed an intimate knowledge of the many special events that are frequently part of the institutional environment. That helps us plan appropriately for all clients, all situations, and all contingencies.
Our Leadership
The management team at Acme has a century of combined experience in the professional cleaning, janitorial and maintenance industry. They have been proving for years, and continue to prove time and time again, that they know how to build, develop and support professional client relationships that work well on many levels -- and that last.

Our Strategies
We work very closely with client management to develop and implement innovative and sound work policies, plans and ideas that result in meeting all client goals for cleanliness, safety, well functioning and operational facilities, environmental responsibility, and ‘smart’ processes that can save both time and money.
The Acme management team accepts responsibility for the daily and/or weekly inspections of all facilities we are charged with maintaining and will furnish written reports that can be reviewed and approved by all clients, for purposes both of confirming the work that has been contracted and seeking ways to continually improve upon it.
As part of our ongoing ‘green’ and cost-containment initiatives, the Acme staff is mandated to open only the minimum amount of doors while at a client site, turn on only the minimum number of lights, and utilize only the minimum number of electrical outlets to perform their jobs properly and effectively.
All Acme managers and supervisors are required to be completely familiar with all the requirements, expectations and special needs and challenges of every client. Our managers and supervisors are equipped with digital pagers and cellular phones to ensure availability for consultation and troubleshooting on a moment’s notice. Furthermore, with the full knowledge that building and facility maintenance is a round-the-clock, year-long endeavor, Acme has made a commitment to provide any provision or contingency as special service needs arise.
Acme Building Services leverages a robust suite of modern technology to optimize its custodial and maintenance operations for over 20 million square feet of facility space. By integrating advanced custodial data collection software and work order management systems, we ensure that every task is tracked, prioritized, and executed with exacting precision to meet site-specific client needs. Our field personnel utilize the latest smart applications for inspections, for real-time reporting, which provides clients with total transparency and validated performance metrics. These digital tools also drive a proactive preventive maintenance strategy, utilizing automated schedules and performance dashboards to identify potential issues before they arise. This tech-forward approach allows Acme to maintain a high-quality, efficient service environment while minimizing the need for direct client supervision.
